Tiny Characters in the Mario Series

Heck, we’ve got Petey Piranha towering over most, then Bowser, and let’s not forget the big guy himself, Donkey Kong. But wait, Rosalina and Waluigi? Those humans are like skyscrapers at above 7 feet tall. Why that stood out to me? No clue.

But I digress—back to the shorties. They’re all around if you care to look. You’ve got Goomba at the bottom of the ladder, literally. Let’s dive into these pint-sized pals, shall we?

10. Goomba
These lil’ brown mushrooms with big ol’ eyes, Goombas kickstarted their journey in "Super Mario Bros." back in ’85, standing at a measly 2’5. Stomp on them, they’re toast. No arms, can’t fight back much. Sometimes they’re not all that bad. Guess being short gets you noticed?

9. Toad
Ah, Toad. This dude’s been Mario’s buddy since "Super Mario Bros." and he’s all about Princess Peach’s safety. At 3’6, he’s just past Goomba height. Lacks courage at times, but he shakes it off when things get dicey. Trustworthy friend to have, I must say.

8. Toadette
Toadette pops up in "Mario Kart: Double Dash!!" She’s Toad’s counterpart and both stack up at 3’6. Their duo vibes? Adorable, I think. Rumor has it they might be a thing, but who knows? They’ve definitely got camaraderie.

7. Bowser Jr.
A smidge taller at 3’7, Bowser’s kid is all about the drama. He’s crafty, like his dad, helping with the classic kidnap-Princess-Peach saga. Small but punches above his weight class in mean machines like the clown car. Fierce lil’ fella, ain’t he? Loves his dad, though. That’s dedication for you.

6. Koopa Troopa
Turtle-ish with a dash of flair, these shell-donning folks are often Bowser’s henchmen. 3’9? Not bad. They’re not all bad guys, some just groove along. Height varies, though, from Magikoopas to Hammer Bros. They sort of shimmy at their own rhythm under Bowser’s rule. Quirky lot.

5. Diddy Kong
A small chimp standing at 4’0, Diddy is Donkey Kong’s sidekick. Quick like lightning in the Kong clan. Always with DK, pretty much his number-one fan. Fast and fun, that’s Diddy in a nutshell.

4. Mario
Our iconic plumber, larger than the likes of Bowser Jr., but at 5’1, he’s not exactly dominating. Fights monsters way bigger. Bowser, at that massive 8’4, we’ve got Mario fighting from below yet coming out on top. Little guy, big heart. Goes above and beyond for the Mushroom Kingdom.

3. Yoshi
The green pal Dino, a reliable ride through thick and thin for the bros. Yoshi hits an average 5’6. Not the tallest but still taller than Mario. Tough cookie despite his average height, and hey, can we talk about those spin-offs?

2. Birdo
Often a wildcard with a neutral stance in the Bowser/Mario drama, Birdo is chilling at 5’7. Plays a lot in Mario Kart. When she’s not chucking eggs, she has a knack for the tracks.

1. Luigi
Taller than his twin Mario at 5’9, Luigi’s got some inches but, oh boy, scared of his own shadow sometimes. Brave when it counts, though. He’s proof tall doesn’t mean bold. Taller than Mario, yes, but sometimes standing behind him.
