Alright, here goes nothing. So, somehow, I found myself flipping through Weekly Famitsu, which, for reasons I can’t even quite explain, was lying around. And bam! There’s this review of “Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time.” That’s Level-5’s new thing on Nintendo Switch.
Anyway, picture this: they run this panel thing called Cross Review. Four folks, each tossing their two cents in with a score. And, surprise surprise, they give it a solid 36 out of 40. Not too shabby, huh? That’s four reviews, each hurling a 9 at it. Weird math, right?
Oh, and the game itself? You kick off on Mysteria Island. Sounds fancy, doesn’t it? It’s all ruins and stuff. Time travel’s involved, apparently. You dive into the past, and yeah, you’re basically crafting, building, and — oh, everything under the sun. Friends, cities, the works.
Level-5, they’re throwing a bunch of features our way:
– Custom Avatars: You can tweak your face, your hair — really, make yourself look like someone’s Sims 4 nightmare. Or masterpiece. No judgment.
– Loads of Lives: It’s like picking a job, but more whimsical. Everyone’s got these traits and quirks, some personal flair to jazz up your gameplay. Woo.
– Island Shenanigans: Go back a millennium (rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it?) and gather stuff to shape an island that’s all yours. Monopoly, but with less rage.
– Multiplayer Mayhem: Grab three of those friends you know-only-on-the-internet. Quest around. Share snacks. Whatever floats your boat.
– Spooky “Strangelings”: I’m not making this up, folks. Apparently, these things are possessed by spirits. Or, they were people? Maybe. You’ve got to sort all that spooky stuff out.
Free-form Adventures: You basically choose your life. Want to fish all day? Go wild. Want to build? Well, there’s stuff for that too.
So, yeah. It’s got danger, mystery, and probably some jump-scares. Keeps you on your toes, I suppose.
Circle your calendar for May 21, 2025. That’s when it goes live on Nintendo Switch and the eShop. Oh, and some Nintendo Switch 2 version’s coming later, if you’re into that kind of future-proofing.
I guess that’s the scoop. Or a scoop. Maybe just a smattering of chaotic thoughts, but hey, that’s how adventures roll sometimes, isn’t it?
