Alright, here goes absolutely nothing, or maybe everything—I mean, who’s to say, right?

So, this streaming site called Dropout—formerly known as College Humor, but who even remembers that anymore?—is blowing up online. And it’s mostly because of this show, Game Changer. It’s like a wild game night you accidentally stumble into and then never want to leave. The host? Sam Reich, who’s basically the big boss over there. You watch these comedians play all sorts of bizarre games, and you’re just sitting there thinking, “Where do they come up with this stuff?” Anyway, here’s me pondering—could they, or would they, ever turn this madness into a video game? Spoiler: Yeah, I think so!
I somehow snagged some time with Reich for a chat. We got into how they craft these insane games—seriously, there’s got to be a mad scientist or an evil genius behind this. But the real kicker? I had to ask if they’d thought about turning any show into an actual game. Like, with a controller and everything.
Reich goes, “Yeah, for sure.” I mean, not shocking, right? He mentioned it’d probably be something from Dimension 20, their D&D series, or duh, Game Changer itself.
“We’ve talked about it,” he says. But then the real-world stuff gets in the way. They want it to feel genuine, y’know? Something that’s so them. No handing it off to random outsiders—now that’d just be wrong. They’ve got this vision, needs to scream “Dropout!” from the rooftops, or whatever metaphor fits here.
And then there’s the money. Ah, money—life’s eternal speed bump. It costs an arm and a leg to make games. Plus, takes forever. Like waiting for your toast to pop, but way longer and less predictable.
When I prod him on whether they’ve really brainstormed this or if it’s still in daydream land, he assures me they’ve got plans brewing. A plot thickens, eh? They started with these tiny web games from Game Changer—baby steps and all that jazz.
Reich seemed pretty hyped—like, “It’s gonna happen. Just not sure when or in what form.” So, yeah, keep your eyes peeled for that one.
Oh, and FYI: Game Changer’s season 7 finale is hitting Dropout on August 11. So mark your calendars—or don’t. I mean, who even uses calendars these days?
