Whoa, okay, where to start? The week kicked off with a sorta, kinda chilled vibe, though it felt ridiculously jam-packed for August. Gradius Origins showed up again, harking back to that moment in the March Switch 1 Direct. Yeah, lasers galore—some might say necessary for taking down the NES Pro Wrestling titan. On a totally unrelated note, there’s this House of the Dead 2 remake floating around (anyone else feeling the Forever Entertainment caution sign?).
Let’s switch gears a bit—anime vibes? Demon Slayer is back, and Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, too. I’m not even sure why these titles tug at my brain, but they do.
Oh, by the way, anyone else compared Allegoria to Pokémon RBY in HD? That caught me off guard, but not as much as Team17’s Ritual of Raven. I mean, what even?
Quick rewind to last week—did anyone notice that Partner Showcase? I was vibing to Chilling By The Fire, and boom, Saga Reveal reset. Square Enix, this is entirely your doing. From what I can tell, some Harvest Moons from the 3DS days got a second lease on life, and Taito’s "Field Day" popped up in the Archives. Makes you think, right?
EggConsole happens to be playable sans Japanese know-how, supposedly. Action RPG feels, but, yeah, if it turns chatty, you might hit a snag. Guess we’ll see.
North America Flavors
- Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2: $59.99
- Gradius Origins: $39.99
- Fate/Hollow Ataraxia Remastered: $29.99
The week’s lineup is like an all-you-can-eat buffet. Some hidden gems like Fitness Adventure Pro and The Edge of Allegoria might intrigue you, while others are more like the peculiar artworks you stare at but don’t comprehend. I’m side-eyeing Turbo Kid here.
Down the Deal Rabbit Hole
Saw Roki with this whopping 90% off until August 17. Deal hunters, don’t sleep on it.
European Whimsy
Europe opens its doors to Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba-, Gradius Origins, and others, but Fate/Hollow Ataraxia caught my eye here. Still trying to wrap my head around differences, currency conversions, and all that jazz.
Japanese Landscape
Japan hosts its own party with Yuukyuu no Tierblade leading the ticket, and—oh—Gradius Origins priced at ¥6380. I’m personally intrigued by the combo of nostalgia and new.
Random thought: Anyone else noticing how each region’s got its own rhythm? Could probably write a thesis on this. Or maybe not.
But, yeah, grab what resonates, ignore the rest. Or dive into it all—I’m not your conscience. Either way, it’s a whirlwind week in gaming-land and well… good luck keeping up!
