Okay, so here’s the thing. Saber Interactive has been on this wild ride, bringing simulation games to folks who, honestly, might not have cared otherwise. It all kicked off with Mudrunner back in 2017. You remember that one? And then it was like, bam! Snowrunner and Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game rolled in. Each one just kept getting better, you know? Like they were leveling up this crazy idea of real-life vehicle off-roading and other stuff.
Now, the latest? Roadcraft. And let me tell ya, it’s like they took all the best bits and mashed them up with these construction challenges that are weirdly addictive. People went nuts over it last month. The suits at Focus Entertainment – yeah, the company pulling the strings – say it’s one of their hugely successful launches. Crazy, right?
So, in some review someone wrote—Ed, I think?—it was called a “convincing argument” that even the strangest topic can make a cool video game. Something about the construction stuff and little story things giving you a kind of high you don’t get from those big RPGs or shooter games. No idea why, but it stuck with me.
And it’s not just them saying so. Loads of people jumped onto it through Steam the day it dropped. Even the big bosses at the parent company, Pullup Entertainment Group, are singing its praises. They mentioned it in some financial report, called it better than expected. More than 600,000 unique players! That’s bananas.
Geoffroy Sardin, the CEO dude, just couldn’t stop talking about how awesome the first few weeks were for the game. Sounds like he was pretty hyped.
Side note: there’s a YouTube thumbnail floating around somewhere. Anyway — wait, no — where was I?
Oh yeah, if you’re curious about Roadcraft, maybe you want to wishlist it? Grab it on Steam. Or don’t. Up to you.
