Build-A-Bear Unveils Charming New Wooper Plushie

In an exciting new development for fans, Build-a-Bear and Pokémon have joined forces yet again, this time to bring the delightful Water/Ground-type Pokémon, Wooper, to their collection. This ongoing collaboration consistently captivates audiences with new Pokémon plush toys, and this addition is no exception.

So far, Build-a-Bear has introduced over 40 Pokémon in their plush lineup, with this series nearing its 10th anniversary. While the company has often looked to earlier generations for inspiration—frequently enchanting fans with the likes of Eeveelution plushies—they’ve also reached into newer iterations such as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Recently, the focus has shifted back to the beloved Gen 2, as fans can now embrace a Pokémon that originally debuted in the classics, Pokémon Gold and Silver.

Wooper, known as the Water Fish Pokémon, has finally made its way to Build-a-Bear. While there are plenty of Pokémon plush toys out there, Build-a-Bear’s versions stand out due to their customizable accessories and the option for a sound chip. Wooper doesn’t disappoint; it comes with adorable swimming accessories, including goggles and a pink pool floatie featuring a Pokéball pattern. Additionally, the plush includes a 5-in-1 sound chip, allowing Wooper to emit its unique cries. The entire bundle is now available for $62.50.

Only obtainable online, the Wooper bundle isn’t sold as separate parts, reflecting Build-a-Bear’s efforts to manage demand and prevent reselling. Purchases are limited to five bundles per person. While there haven’t been major changes to Wooper’s basic evolutionary line over the years, it has received some updates in the form of Paldean Wooper in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This new take on the Pokémon modifies its gills and alters its body markings and color from blue to brown. However, Build-a-Bear currently offers only the original Wooper design.
