Sure, here’s my take:

So, hey, it’s me again. Just got done with the emotional gauntlet that is The Last of Us Part II—needed that like a hole in the head. I’m hankering for some calm now, maybe a bit of that reconnection jazz. And wouldn’t you know it, here comes Sam Porter Bridges with just the right vibes for that.
I finally found myself wrapped up in Death Stranding—not immediately love at first sight, mind you—but the thing grew on me. Layers on layers, you know? Still scratching my head over some bits, the good kind of confusion, like a puzzle you keep coming back to. Kojima’s world is something else, huh? A little loopy but, hey, that’s part of the charm.
First time around, Death Stranding got deep under the skin, didn’t it? Mixing the real heavy stuff about human connections with these out-there ideas like extinction entities? (Not gonna lie, sometimes I think I’ve met one on the subway.) It taps right into my mental chaos, what with life being, well, life. Global turmoil, personal stuff—this escapism hits the spot.
Kojima says he rewrote the sequel’s script post-pandemic—pondering, “Should We Have Connected?” That particular question’s been rattling around my brain, too. Doubt he’ll hand me the answers on a silver platter, but diving into his brain-space seems like a decent plan.
That’s all I’ve got. Make sure you enjoy the weekend, dive into some games, and remember to keep the Pride flags flying high!
