The other day, outta nowhere—you know how it goes—Elden Ring Nightreign drops a new update. Didn’t see this one coming, did we? Anyway, no downtime this time, but yeah, you gotta update it to join in the matchmaking mayhem.
So, update 1.01.4 lands, tagging along behind 1.01.3 from June. Little tweaks, but honestly, they’re pretty handy for most of us gamers.

Okay, what’s actually new? This update added a weapon type display in the Armament Info menu. Not groundbreaking, but super neat when deciding whether to stash a weapon or not. No more squinting and guessing!
Now, most of the patch is just bug fixes. Boring, right? But hey, some were kinda game-breaking. Like, if your teammates bail at the same time, matchmaking used to just… stop working. Restart your game and hope for the best, ya know? That’s sorted now though.
And check this—there were fixes for gestures and achievements. Hate to break it to you, but you gotta meet the criteria all over again to unlock them. Classic oversight, right? Even though it wasn’t outright mentioned, sounds like they’re setting the stage for the Sentient Pest Nightlord to step up as the next Everdark Sovereign.
Bank on seeing that in-game by tomorrow, July 3. And if you missed it, Nightreign’s cranked up the difficulty on certain Nightlords—amped-up Everdark Sovereign bosses. Strictly for players who’ve conquered their standard versions.
These Everdark Sovereign bosses like Gaping Jaws and Darkdrift Knight? They’ve got fresh attacks. Sneaky stuff, designed to trip up players who think they know what’s coming.
[Pardon the random image break—goes here somewhere.]
So, here’s the fresh patch notes for 1.01.4:
- Weapon Type in Armament Info: now plain as day.
- Fixed the matchmaking bug where it just gave up after player bail-out shenanigans.
- "It’s Raining!” gesture bug—sorted. You can snag it by re-hitting the conditions, even if you’ve done it before.
- Fixed the near-death revival issue during the third-day boss fight—a weird one, huh?
- The Recluse Remembrance music glitch—fixed. About time, right?
- Fixed "Shifting Earth: Crater” achievement issue—kinda. Just clear the thing, even if you’ve done it already, and you’ll get the credit.
There’s more, but you get it. Bunch of bug fixes.
